This was the first Phil show I saw. I remember thinking at the time that the Scarlet teases were kind of clever, but overall I was disappointed at the time. I thought the show was sloppy, the music a little too loose and careless.
I took my son (7 at the time) and brother-in-law. They were both awestruck and insane about Bob Dylan, but weren't all thrilled with Phil. When walking in, my son went sniff, sniff, and then told me "I smell something I LIKE!" I kept trying to convince him it was popcorn, but he wasn't biting!
That said, in hearing this today, I am surprised at how much better it is than my memory allows. The sound is typical aud, but the music is good, nice and dreamy, deadlike, and not a bad selection of songs, either.
Very strong showing. Sorry, Phil, for so misjudging you! I guess I can start going to P & F again...
